Face it, not only is film dead but so is tape. High-end HD production is moving at breakneck speed towards a completely tapeless workflow through the entire production cycle. Bigger drives, faster computers and cheaper flash memory more easily processing the higher bitrates of HD all mean that tapeless is here to stay.

So, what does this mean for how you work? No longer can you just pop a DV, HDV or BETA tape into your camera and worry about it later. A tapeless world means you have to think about your entire production as a way of working differently.

In our 3-hour seminar we will outline the new working philosophies necessary to understand the fundamental differences to working tapeless. With a hands-on approach we will then teach you the practicalities of operating a tapeless production.

Panasonic HVX200: P2 Cards, FS-100 FireStore, Apple Final Cut Pro.
  • How to integrate a tapeless HD workflow into your established production habits and infrastructures.
  • Familiarity with the particular workflows using the HVX200 and Final Cut Pro.
