This seminar offers a hands-on look at the most cost effective tool for high-end digital cinematography: the 35mm Lens adapter. With reduced depth of field and more film-like reproductions of skin tones, softening and color these adapters systems are the must have tool for those anyone looking for an affordable high production value and that “film” look. During this workshop you will perform camera tests using the Redrock Micro M2 and Letus35 Extreme in different lighting setups and see how they operate under different conditions.

Anyone interested in learning more about the next wave of low-cost, high-value HD production. From film students to producers and professional DP's will benefit from learning more about (and getting their hands on) the equipment and methods to really achieve the highest aesthetic results on their HD production.

The workshop will start with an orientation to the different 35mm lens adapter systems and their respective HD camera, storage mediums, lens packages and accessories.
Afterwards, the class will split into small groups, each assigned their own HD cine-camera package, to shoot and test. Once familiar with the camera and adapter the groups will rotate through lit enviornments designed to test the strengths and limitations of each camera rig. Our two instructors (Eddie and Dave) will guide you through any difficulties or questions along with our assistants who will deal with media archiving as the day progresses.
Afterwards we will send you a DVD of all the footage shot in class (encoded in High Definition H.264), so when you're deciding what to use or need to convince someone else, the evidence will be in your hands.
